German Lemus, known simply as Lemus, is a Honduran-born, Florida-raised creative force. His name is often misread or mispronounced (it’s Jermaine with a twist), but the message in his art speaks loud and clear: truth, intention, and liberation through creation.
His path hasn’t been linear — it’s been a series of bold strokes, erased lines, and breakthroughs. From navigating language barriers as an immigrant to sketching drill sergeants as a young soldier, Lemus found clarity and freedom in visual expression. What began as raw sketches in the Army turned into murals, wearable art, and gallery-worthy masterpieces.
After serving, he poured himself into mentorship, becoming an art tutor in the Soldiers to Scholars program. It was there, teaching kids to unlock their own creativity, that Lemus discovered his passion for giving back. He later studied multimedia design and visual arts in college, where he fell in love with Impressionism and began blending classical influence with the grit and rhythm of urban life.
His style? Fearless, fluid, and deeply felt. His subjects? Often reflections of his own journey — the outsider, the thinker, the revolutionary spirit within us all.
Lemus is also a founding member of The B-Side Artists, a collective that emerged from the streets of Orlando to celebrate the beauty in the overlooked and the power of self-expression.
